Inventory Control Coordinator - 3rd Shift

About the role

The Inventory Control Coordinator works the 3rd shift and coordinates the inventory control process, keeping inventory levels accurate and communicating with external and internal customers, vendors, carriers and suppliers. The role acts as a liaison between logistics, procurement, QA and production, manages product movement and validates inventory levels as requested by procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily cycle counts, research causes of discrepancies and report suggested process corrections to management
• Monitor negative inventory and scrap daily, and obsolete or potentially out-of-date inventory, reporting weekly
• Work with Quality Assurance on "on hold" products, including reconciling electronic records with physical inventory and following up on released, reworked, returned or disposed items
• Take part in physical inventory counts with Finance and validate physical inventory levels as requested by procurement
• Work with Logistics Supervisors to improve processes and maintain location and item-level accuracy
• Ensure compliance with company, AIB, BRC, HACCP and USDA policies on inventory movement and storage
• Evaluate work order consumption, rectify and close work orders daily
• Operate powered industrial vehicles as required; truck receiving or shipping may be required

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, plus two to four years of college-level coursework or equivalent experience
• At least three years of experience in a warehousing or inventory control environment
• At least three years of experience with shipping and receiving and warehouse operations
• Good mathematical and analytical skills, and strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

Required skills

• PC/terminal operation, specifically MS Excel and the MS Office suite
• Ability to operate MRP/ERP systems
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including stand-up forklifts
• Preferred: experience with 3rd party vendors and Oracle/WMS
