Internship – Weapons of Mass Destruction Branch

About the role

This unpaid internship with the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs supports the Weapons of Mass Destruction Branch. The role is based in New York and can be adjusted to part‑time or remote arrangements depending on the candidate’s needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in drafting official documents, summaries, speeches, remarks and web content.
• Attend conferences and meetings, take notes and produce summaries.
• Conduct research using documents, media and internet sources.
• Provide logistical support during conferences and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required by the Branch.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or completed a graduate programme, or in the final year of a bachelor’s programme.
• Computer literate with standard software applications, especially the MS Office suite.
• Demonstrated interest in United Nations work and commitment to its Charter.
• Ability to interact respectfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Fluency in spoken and written English; knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
