Internal Audit and Financial Advisory Consultant

About the role

Protiviti is hiring an Internal Audit and Financial Advisory Consultant in Houston. Consultants work with clients, typically among the world's leading companies, to deliver client-focused solutions to complex business problems. The role is split between two areas: Business Process Audit and Advisory, and Technology Audit and Advisory.

Key responsibilities

• Assess risks, analyze data, document observations and communicate insights that contribute to client engagements.
• Build professional relationships with client and project team personnel.
• Manage time and priorities, take ownership of assignments and contribute to team outcomes.
• In Business Process Audit and Advisory: explore business processes, identify and mitigate emerging risks, help clients meet regulatory and compliance requirements, and manage risk, test controls, enhance security and improve corporate governance.
• In Technology Audit and Advisory: advise on cybersecurity, AI risk, data governance and cloud, covering controls, compliance, privacy, software development, technology resilience and governance.
• Learn alongside experienced leaders and advisors, with hands-on training and project assignments set by Talent Managers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant discipline such as Accounting, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Finance, Information Systems, Information Technology or Management Information Systems.
• U.S. visa status: authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Demonstrated proficiency applying AI tools to analytical and research tasks (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, GenAI).
• Strong verbal and written communication, critical thinking and ability to work in teams and independently.

Required skills

• Understanding of internal audit processes, frameworks and audit objectives.
• Data handling and analysis in various formats.
• Modern tools such as Microsoft Office Suite and data visualization tools like Power BI.
• Interest in advanced analytics and automation (e.g., Alteryx, MS Power Platform, Python).
