Intermediate Software Engineer (A&P)

About the role

PointClickCare, a privately held health technology company serving over 30,000 provider organizations, is looking for an Intermediate Software Engineer to solve complex problems across the healthcare continuum. You will report to a Software Engineering Manager and work closely with Product, QA and DevOps. The role is full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, test and support back-end services and web front ends
• Own hard problems end to end, from requirements to production
• Debug and resolve issues across distributed systems
• Build with reliability, scalability and security in mind
• Automate repetitive work through tooling and scripting
• Review teammates' code and have them review yours
• Join sprint ceremonies and the team's on-call rotation
• Use AI coding assistants as part of daily work

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software development
• Strong Java, including Spring
• Solid SQL and relational database experience
• Experience writing automated tests
• Some front-end experience
• Comfort with Git-based workflows and code review
• A drive to learn and the initiative to move work forward without being asked

Required skills

• REST API development
• Nice to have: OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML
• Nice to have: containers and container orchestration
• Nice to have: CI/CD pipelines and build automation
• Nice to have: cloud platforms, especially Azure
• Nice to have: infrastructure as code, observability (logging, metrics, dashboards)
• Nice to have: Linux and networking fundamentals, scripting for automation, SaaS product experience, production support or on-call experience

Travel to the office is expected for remote roles (onboarding, team events, semi-annual and annual meetings) and for hybrid roles, which must live within commuting distance of the listed location.
