Intermediate Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

About the role

PointClickCare, a privately held health technology company serving over 30,000 provider organizations, is looking for an Intermediate Site Reliability Engineer. The engineer bridges development and operations, keeping systems highly reliable, scalable and efficient, and works with cross-functional teams to optimize system architecture and drive operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the uptime and performance of systems and applications
• Automate processes and implement best practices in site reliability and system administration
• Work autonomously on infrastructure performance enhancements to keep the environment stable and secure

Required profile

• Experience administering Linux environments, preferably Ubuntu or other Debian-based distributions
• Experience setting up servers and services in on-premise and cloud infrastructure (Azure and AWS)
• Infrastructure as code with Terraform and Ansible
• Log aggregation experience with Splunk, in administrative and user capacity
• Experience with observability tools such as Nagios, Grafana and DataDog
• VMware administration and maintenance experience
• Plus: iSCSI storage administration in an HPE Nimble environment and Dell hardware experience in an on-premise environment

Required skills

• Scripting and automation with Bash, Python or Perl
• Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, firewalls, DNS, routing)
• Linux security practices, including user permissions, access controls and intrusion detection
• System monitoring and performance tuning (e.g., Nagios, JSM, Prometheus)
• Backup and disaster recovery strategies
• Collaboration with development teams and communication of technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Bonus: Kubernetes, Kafka, identity access management and Windows Active Directory administration

Remote roles involve occasional travel to the Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City office for onboarding, team events and meetings. Hybrid roles require living within commuting distance of the listed location, including regular in-office team events.
