About the role

The University of Arkansas seeks an experienced leader to serve as Head of the Interior Architecture and Design Department for a 12‑month term. This dual role combines academic leadership with faculty responsibilities, guiding curriculum, research, and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and administrative oversight for the Interior Architecture and Design program.
• Develop and maintain curriculum that reflects current industry standards and research.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise studio projects, and mentor students.
• Foster faculty development, conduct performance reviews, and support hiring initiatives.
• Lead research initiatives, secure external funding, and promote interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Represent the department within university committees and external professional networks.

Required profile

• Terminal degree (PhD or MFA) in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or a closely related field.
• Significant academic experience, including teaching and research.
• Demonstrated leadership or administrative experience in higher education.
• Strong record of scholarly publications, exhibitions, or professional practice.
