Instructor & Project Director – Title IV‑E, Social Work & Public Health

About the role

Tarleton State University’s Department of Social Work and Public Health seeks an enthusiastic Instructor and Project Director for its Title IV‑E program. The position combines teaching responsibilities with the coordination of a statewide Title IV‑E contract, supporting child welfare services across Texas.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in social work and public health.
• Lead the planning, development, and implementation of the Title IV‑E contract in partnership with the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and reporting requirements to ensure compliance with state regulations.
• Collaborate with faculty, community agencies, and government partners to integrate research and practice.
• Participate in departmental service, curriculum development, and student mentorship.

Required profile

• Earned doctoral degree (Ph.D. or DSW) or equivalent in Social Work, Public Health, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in higher‑education teaching and curriculum design.
• Proven track record of managing federally funded projects, preferably Title IV‑E.
• Strong understanding of child welfare policy and interdisciplinary collaboration.
