Instructional Systems Design Specialist

About the role

The Instructional Systems Design Specialist will apply instructional design principles to create engaging, high‑quality learning solutions for internal and external project needs. This role translates technical processes into training that supports job knowledge, qualifications, and regulatory compliance for federal, state, or military audiences.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple learning projects, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining quality standards.
• Collaborate with SMEs, trainers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and develop clear learning objectives.
• Conduct needs and gap analyses to identify target audiences and performance outcomes.
• Design and develop curriculum using ADDIE or similar models, creating ILT, WBT, storyboards, video scripts, and assessments.
• Support implementation of training programs, both online and in‑person, and evaluate effectiveness through surveys and assessments.
• Upload and manage content in an LMS, track learner progress, and generate reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Educational Technology, or related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience designing and developing training for corporate, consulting, or government environments.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE and PADDIE+M.
• Experience using eLearning authoring tools: Articulate Storyline 360, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia.
• LMS administration and content management.
• Advanced Microsoft Office Suite for storyboarding and documentation.
