Infusion RN - Oncology Clinic

About the role

aoncology is hiring an Infusion Registered Nurse for its Oncology Consultants practice in Greater Heights. The nurse delivers safe, accurate and efficient patient care, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and biotherapy, and works within the company's Job Breakdown Instructions (JBIs).

Key responsibilities

• Patient assessment, review of labs and vital signs, medication safety, dose verification and drug administration.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care and non-oncologic agents safely and accurately, using ONS standards and guidelines.
• Provide triage care when needed and communicate patient conditions to the multidisciplinary team.
• Teach patients and caregivers about medications, side effects and the planned treatment course.
• Document treatments thoroughly, accurately and timely in the EMR, capture appropriate charges and follow proper patient identification.
• Handle biohazardous waste safely per OSHA and NIOSH guidelines.
• Assist with inventory and restocking of medical supplies, and complete annual safety and nursing trainings.
• Answer telephone triage calls and messages from patients, families, hospitals, pharmacies and physicians, and assist in training new employees.

Required profile

• Nursing degree and unencumbered RN license in the state of employment or a multi-state license.
• Current CPR and BLS certifications and a valid driver's license.
• Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting.
• Fluency in English and strong critical thinking and communication skills.
• Willingness to work at any company location on an as-needed basis and to work overtime when given sufficient notice.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• EMR documentation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional overtime and weekend shifts depending on location hours and operational needs. Travel is less than 25% of the time.
