Infusion Nurse RN - Oncology (Full Time)

About the role

aoncology is hiring a full-time Infusion Nurse RN for its Hematology Oncology practice. The nurse delivers safe, accurate and efficient patient care, including patient assessment, medication safety, dose verification and drug administration, and communicates patient conditions to the multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Safely administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care and non-oncologic agents per provider orders, using ONS standards and guidelines
• Provide triage care when needed and prioritize incoming calls from patients, families, hospitals, pharmacies and physicians
• Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects and the treatment plan
• Document treatments accurately and timely in the EMR and capture appropriate charges
• Assist with inventory and restocking of medical supplies, and complete annual safety and nursing trainings
• Work at any company location as needed and work overtime when given sufficient notice

Required profile

• Nursing degree and unencumbered RN license in the state of employment or multi-state license
• Current CPR and BLS certifications and a valid driver's license
• Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting
• Fluency in English and strong critical thinking and communication skills

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• EMR
• Knowledge of ONS standards and OSHA/NIOSH biohazard disposal guidelines
