Independent Field Inspector – Property Inspections

About the role

Seek Now is seeking capable 1099 independent subcontractors to perform accurate, impartial home and commercial property inspections for insurance, facility management, and real‑estate clients. Inspectors work on‑site, often traveling to areas affected by weather catastrophes.

Key responsibilities

• Access and inspect steep or high roofs, lifting and setting up ladders and equipment up to 100 lb.
• Sketch, measure and document roof and room components using proprietary smartphone software.
• Scope roofs, rooms and other inspection areas of varying sizes and shapes.
• Travel for 2‑6 week assignments in catastrophe zones, with lodging provided.
• Utilize equipment such as 3D cameras, drones and moisture meters.
• Take assignments on short notice and complete all job aspects as defined.

Required profile

• Clean, reliable truck, van or SUV capable of transporting a 32‑ft ladder.
• Operational laptop and smartphone for data entry and navigation.
• Valid driver’s license, state‑issued workers’ compensation and general liability insurance.
• Professional appearance and ability to work as a 1099 independent contractor.
• Flexibility to travel during hurricanes, tornadoes or other catastrophic events.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D cameras, drones and moisture meters.
• Experience using proprietary inspection software on a smartphone.
• Competence with Microsoft Office applications.
