Human Resources Generalist

About the role

The Human Resources Generalist supports daily HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits, and compliance. This position acts as a trusted resource for employees and managers, ensuring consistent application of policies and employment laws. The role contributes to a positive workplace culture within a fast‑growing storage management company.

Key responsibilities

• Administer payroll processes, compensation changes, benefits enrollment, and leaves of absence (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, etc.).
• Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data with strict confidentiality.
• Interpret, apply, and enforce company policies and procedures consistently.
• Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and workplace conduct.
• Support recruitment, interviewing, background checks, and new‑hire orientation.
• Assist with investigations, compliance audits, and corrective‑action processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least one year of human‑resource management experience (preferred).
• SHRM‑CP certification is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to quickly learn and use the organization’s HRIS and talent‑management systems.
