Human Resource Business Partner – Augusta, GA

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Human Resource Business Partner to support a hospital in Augusta. This strategic HR professional will partner with clinical and administrative leaders to align talent initiatives with patient‑care goals and ensure a safe, compliant work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a strategic advisor to department heads on workforce planning, talent strategy, and performance management.
• Provide day‑to‑day guidance on coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions.
• Investigate and resolve complex employee‑relations issues in line with state and hospital policies.
• Collaborate with Learning & Development to ensure mandatory certifications (e.g., CPR, CPI) are current.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition on recruitment and workforce planning for assigned units.
• Liaise between hospital leadership and central HR/state agencies, including legal.
• Analyze turnover, engagement, and performance data to recommend proactive HR solutions.

Required profile

• Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence leaders across clinical and administrative areas.
• Deep knowledge of employee relations, performance management, organizational development, and relevant employment laws.
• Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting HR metrics.
• Excellent communication, listening, and influencing abilities.
• Capacity to manage multiple competing priorities.

Required skills

• Experience with HR data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with state‑government or public‑healthcare HR practices.
