Hull & Deck Infusion – Composites Technician

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a skilled Hull & Deck Infusion – Composites Technician to join its Austin production team. You will be responsible for infusing high‑performance composite parts that form the structure and systems of autonomous vessels. The role is hands‑on, safety‑focused, and directly influences product reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare large molds and tooling for composite lay‑up and infusion.
• Perform precise hand lay‑ups using dry fiber materials and install core materials with minimal gaps.
• Set up and execute vacuum‑assisted resin infusion processes, including installing vacuum manifolds, bagging, and leak detection.
• Mix resin, MEKP, vinyl‑ester, and polyester resins to specified ratios and handle them safely.
• Conduct drop tests, maintain vacuum catch pots, and perform post‑infusion quality checks.
• Interpret technical drawings, lay‑up schedules, and process documentation via tablet.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to iterate on part design and manufacturability.
• Document work performed, identify process improvements, and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Required profile

• 2+ years of hands‑on experience in composites manufacturing, especially resin infusion in a high‑rate boat‑building environment.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a quality‑first mindset.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced, iterative setting.
• U.S. Person (citizen or permanent resident) required due to DoD contract work.

Required skills

• Vacuum‑assisted resin infusion
• Composite lay‑up and vacuum bagging
• Resin mixing (vinyl‑ester, polyester, MEKP)
• Handling carbon fiber, dry fiberglass, and core materials
• Use of trimming tools, grinders, and measurement instruments
• Interpretation of technical drawings and lay‑up schedules
• Familiarity with MVP High Output System (preferred)
• Forklift or crane operation certification (optional)
