HR Generalist 2

About the role

The Georgia Department of Community Supervision seeks an experienced HR Generalist to provide operational HR support across the state. You will manage time and absence, leave administration, retirement processing, and other core HR transactions while serving a mission‑driven public safety agency.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and adjust employee time records in GA@WORK, process overtime payouts, and monitor absence calendars.
• Conduct leave audits, process donated leave requests, and manage restoration of unpaid or forfeited leave.
• Certify final leave balances for the Employees' Retirement System and handle retirement processing.
• Resolve internal MOJO and SAO help‑desk tickets related to time, absence, and other HR issues.
• Process employment and background verifications, and provide HR data for investigations and legal requests.
• Assist managers with performance management, policy guidance, and employee relations concerns.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED plus four years of HR experience, or equivalent experience at HR Generalist 1 level.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
• At least three years of experience in a Georgia state HR environment and familiarity with state civil service rules and retirement systems.
• Two years of hands‑on experience with PeopleSoft HCM or Workday, especially Time & Absence modules.
• Experience with FMLA, LWOP, Workers’ Compensation, and complex leave audits for organizations of 100+ employees.
