HR Business Partner (Senior HR Generalist)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Generalist to join a growing services firm in Rochester, New York. The HR Business Partner will work closely with leadership to enhance HR practices, support employee needs, and drive operational excellence as the organization expands.

Key responsibilities

• Administer employee benefits programs, guide enrollment, and answer plan‑related questions.
• Manage HR activities across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding coordination, employee‑relations support, and policy administration.
• Coordinate and track performance‑review processes to ensure timely completion and consistent documentation.
• Maintain accurate, organized, and compliant personnel records and HR documentation.
• Partner with finance and operational leaders to support HR priorities and improve internal processes.
• Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, workplace matters, and general employment questions.
• Support HRIS activities, work within current systems, and recommend process or platform improvements.

Required profile

• 8‑12 years of progressive HR experience with broad generalist responsibilities.
• Demonstrated background in employee relations, HR administration, onboarding, and benefits support.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain accurate records.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; comfortable collaborating with leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

Required skills

• Experience with HR systems; familiarity with Employee Navigator is helpful.
