High School French Teacher – Full‑Time

About the role

Pioneer High School is looking for a dedicated High School French Teacher to join its World Languages department. The successful candidate will inspire students to achieve fluency in French while cultivating an appreciation for Francophone cultures. This full‑time position begins on July 1, 2026 and contributes to a vibrant, inclusive school community.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver lesson plans aligned with New York State Learning Standards for World Languages.
• Teach French across multiple proficiency levels, from beginner to advanced.
• Develop listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills through immersive activities.
• Integrate cultural content into language instruction.
• Assess student progress using formative and summative evaluations.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Maintain accurate records of performance and attendance.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
• Support extracurricular language clubs and cultural events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in French, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Valid New York State Teaching Certification in French (grades 7‑12).
• Near‑native proficiency in French.
• Experience teaching high‑school students preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
