About the role

Carmen Southgate High School seeks a dynamic, creative, and student‑centered Art Teacher to design engaging, rigorous, and culturally responsive art lessons for high‑school students.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver hands‑on art lessons that develop creativity, self‑expression, critical thinking, and artistic skills.
• Differentiate instruction to meet varied learning needs and incorporate technology into daily teaching.
• Collaborate with colleagues, work with an Instructional Coach, and participate in professional development.
• Maintain accurate grades in PowerSchool, communicate regularly with families, and ensure student safety.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree and Wisconsin licensure (or eligibility) in the subject area.
• Successful teaching experience, preferably in urban schools.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with students and families and serve as an advisor.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and equity‑focused education.

Required skills

• Effective classroom management and instructional differentiation.
• Proficiency with educational technology and data analysis for student learning plans.
