Heavy Equipment Transport Driver

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A CDL trucks, lowboys, and tractor‑trailers to haul bulldozers, excavators and other heavy equipment.
• Load, secure, and transport heavy iron and construction materials while complying with DOT, OSHA and site‑specific safety regulations.
• Perform daily vehicle maintenance, pre‑trip inspections, fueling, greasing and cleaning.
• Complete hauling reports, tickets and maintain communication with the site Superintendent.
• Operate off‑road trucks, forklifts, loaders and rollers on‑site, handling attachments such as blades, buckets and booms.
• Assist site labor crews with hand work and general duties when not hauling.

Required profile

• Current Class A CDL with a clean driving record and annual VDOT physical.
• Experience hauling heavy construction equipment on a lowboy (minimum one year preferred).
• Solid knowledge of DOT, OSHA and site safety rules; ability to follow them without reminders.
• Good communication skills for daily coordination with the Superintendent and crew.
• Dependable, punctual and able to work without direct supervision.

Required skills

• Class A CDL license.
• CPR/AED certification.
• OSHA 10‑hour training.
• Operation of Android or iPhone devices and two‑way radios.
