Heavy Equipment Operator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator with Trimble GPS experience to operate machinery such as dozers, excavators, or graders to perform precise earthwork. Candidates must interpret design plans, set up and use GPS systems for grade control, perform daily inspections, and maintain tight finish tolerances.

Key responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment using Trimble Earthworks or similar machine‑control systems for fine grading and earthwork.
• Read and interpret engineered site plans to ensure accurate elevations, slopes, and alignments.
• Set up and calibrate GPS equipment, troubleshoot minor hardware/software issues, and manage data flow between field and office.
• Safely load, haul, and place materials according to project specifications to meet production and quality goals.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance, including greasing and fluid checks.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an equipment operator in a construction setting.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not required.
• Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and schematics.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to work variable hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Pre‑employment drug screen and background check required.
