Health Unit Coordinator – Neuro Perioperative Unit

About the role

Join the Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute as a Health Unit Coordinator supporting the Neuro Perioperative Unit. You will act as a vital link between patients, families, and the care team, ensuring smooth daily operations and an exceptional patient experience.

Key responsibilities

• Greet, orient, and welcome newly admitted or transferred patients.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and make patient rounds throughout their stay.
• Facilitate communication among patients, families, departments, and the health‑care team.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and maintain patient medical records.
• Provide concierge services, way‑finding assistance, and direct patients to resources.
• Perform unit clerical duties and troubleshoot equipment such as call systems and portable phones.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of customer‑service experience.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment with minimal supervision.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform frequent data entry.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
