About the role

The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) provides critical care for high‑acuity patients requiring complex medical interventions. As a Health Unit Coordinator you will support the MICU team by greeting patients, handling admissions and ensuring smooth unit operations under RN supervision.

Key responsibilities

Greet, welcome and orient newly admitted or transferred patients.
Respond to patient call lights and perform regular rounds.
Assist with processing admissions, transfers and discharges.
Guide patients and families with wayfinding and resource referrals.
Assemble and maintain patient medical records and related documentation.
Troubleshoot unit equipment failures such as call systems, portable phones and WOW devices.

Required profile

High school diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of experience in a customer‑service related role.
Experience with typing and basic computer training.
Preferred: college degree and Microsoft Office experience.
