About the role

Kingsley Montessori School seeks a private lesson teacher for guitar and ukulele to work with beginning and intermediate students in grades Pre‑K to 6 (ages 4‑12) as part of its After‑School Music Program starting September 2026.

Key responsibilities

Provide one‑on‑one weekly lessons to assigned students, tailoring instruction to each learner’s level.
Teach sight‑reading, music theory, composition, ear training, and aural analysis using a holistic, student‑centered approach.
Prepare students for recitals throughout the year and guide them in self‑critique and practice ownership.

Required profile

Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Music degree.
Experience teaching very young students (ages 4‑12) in multi‑age settings.
Demonstrated ability to design curriculum and lesson plans for beginner and intermediate levels.

Required skills

Proficiency in guitar.
Proficiency in ukulele.
Knowledge of music theory, sight‑reading, composition, and ear training.

What we offer

Hourly compensation of $65 per hour.
