GSOC Operator - Educational Institution

About the role

Allied Universal Technology Services is hiring a Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Operator for its Monitoring and Response Center (MaRC) in Richardson, Texas. The operator monitors cameras and alarms, dispatches response personnel, answers calls and assists employees and guests, supporting headquarters, branch offices and field teams in preparing for, responding to and recovering from incidents. The position is full-time and in the office, with overnight shifts (11pm-7am) and weekend work; it may require working on holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Answer routine and emergency calls, monitor traditional alarms, video and access control, and give general assistance per customer protocols
• Dispatch security officers, emergency response teams, facilities, police, fire and EMS personnel by telephone and/or email
• Share information with key partners and escalate complaints and critical events to the Shift Supervisor, Manager and leadership
• Report missing, damaged or inoperative equipment and systems, and respond to customer maintenance requests
• Follow location-specific policies and procedures, and keep detailed records of activities and communications

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED)
• At least three years of experience in law enforcement, security or the military
• At least three years of experience controlling cameras, responding to alarms or dispatching in a security intelligence or critical event response setting
• Fluent spoken, written and reading English
• Preferred: college degree in criminal justice, SOC experience, and five years of professional experience in law enforcement, security or the military

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Good independent judgment, discretion and initiative, with the ability to prioritize competing assignments and meet deadlines
• Preferred: experience with Brivo, EagleEye, AXIS, DMP (Virtual Keypad), Verkada or automation systems
