Groundskeeper

About the role

Morguard, a fully integrated real estate company investing in multifamily assets across North America, is hiring a Groundskeeper for its community in Irving, TX. The role resolves minor work orders, completes preventative maintenance and supports day-to-day onsite operations. You will work full time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with an hour off for lunch, at $18 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the root cause of each work order and close it out, improving residents' homes
• Walk the property daily, knowing the grounds and buildings, and clear trash and debris
• Turn vacant units around and prepare them for new residents
• Respond to work orders and general maintenance promptly, communicating with the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager
• Work with the Maintenance Supervisor on special projects and routine maintenance
• Follow company and community operating and safety policies and comply with federal, state and local laws, including Fair Housing

Required profile

• Strong work ethic, customer service and a commitment to company goals and team success
• Good communicator and listener
• High school graduate; technical school preferred but not required
• Valid driver's license in good standing and reliable transportation; onsite golf carts are used for tours and inspections
• Previous experience on a garden-style apartment community is an advantage

Required skills

• General knowledge or direct experience of plumbing, drywall repair, painting, carpentry, appliance repair, pressure cleaning or minor electrical troubleshooting
