Graduate Coordinator - English

About the role

The English Department at LSU seeks a Graduate Coordinator to manage the English Graduate Office, supporting admissions, graduate teaching assistants, budgeting, and compliance with university procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Graduate Studies and coordinate academic scheduling, committee communications, and compliance.
• Provide administrative support, maintain records, manage awards, and update the graduate studies website.
• Handle human resource processes for GTAs, including onboarding via Workday and faculty credentialing.
• Coordinate admissions, maintain confidential applicant files, and orient new graduate students.
• Support registration, counsel students on assistantship eligibility, and ensure compliance with LSU systems.
• Manage the English Graduate Studies budget (~$1.1 million), track expenditures, and advise on admissions and compensation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with two years related experience or a master's degree.
• Experience in graduate student support, HR processes, and budget management.
• Ability to handle confidential information and conduct financial checks.
