Government Technical Report Writer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced technical writer to produce three government‑required technical reports for a U.S. Army training‑simulator contract. The role involves converting mechanical‑engineer data and existing documentation into clear, requirements‑driven deliverables while the engineering team focuses on design work.

Key responsibilities

• Develop three draft technical reports using engineering data, safety assessment and health hazard assessment information.
• Translate complex mechanical‑engineer input into structured, Army/DoD‑compliant documentation.
• Collaborate with subject‑matter experts to gather and clarify technical details.
• Incorporate government feedback, revise drafts, and track time against tight deadlines.
• Potentially support additional deliverables such as technical manuals and training materials through May.

Required profile

• Proven technical‑writing experience on government or defense contracts, preferably for the U.S. Army.
• Familiarity with Safety Assessment Reports, Health Hazard Assessment Reports, and Level of Repair Analysis Reports.
• Ability to work independently, manage changing workloads, and meet urgent deadlines.
