GovCon Billing Specialist

About the role

The Billing Specialist will support Competitive Range Solutions' corporate operations by preparing, submitting, and reconciling government contract invoices, primarily for Cost‑Plus‑Fixed‑Fee (CPFF) and other cost‑reimbursement contracts supporting DoD clients. The role works closely with Finance, Contracts, Program Management, and Operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit CPFF cost vouchers and other cost‑reimbursement invoices in accordance with FAR/DFARS and agency requirements, using WAWF and other government billing systems.
• Reconcile invoices to the QuickBooks general ledger and job‑cost reports, tracking costs by contract, task order, and CLIN.
• Monitor funded ceilings, burn rates, and billing limitations; coordinate with Program Managers and the Director of Contracts to resolve funding actions and invoice rejections.
• Maintain audit‑ready billing documentation and support DCAA/DCMA audits, invoice reviews, and government inquiries.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of billing or finance experience in the government contracting (GovCon) industry.
• Experience supporting DoD contracts and preparing CPFF cost vouchers.
• Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks, including job costing and general ledger reconciliation.
• Experience using WAWF for government invoicing.
