GIS Telecommunications Designer

About the role

ISG is looking for a highly motivated Telecommunications Senior Designer to join its Telecommunications + Utility Business Unit. You will work on projects for public and private clients across the country, alongside the Telecommunications Practice Group Leader, Matt Cherek, based in Green Bay. The firm is described as a full-service, multi-disciplinary provider of planning, design, survey and construction services.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret engineering drawings and utility maps
• Perform fieldwork to gather data on underground and overhead utilities
• Operate GPS equipment and use GIS platforms such as ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Field Maps
• Edit and produce enterprise-level maps in ArcGIS Pro and create and modify ArcGIS design templates
• Develop utility plans using AutoCAD and/or GIS tools, applying utility design standards and materials
• Manage and coordinate permit submittals and liaise with utility providers
• Maintain and update as-built records and GIS datasets
• Oversee project timelines and deliverables, and support OSP (outside plant) and ISP (inside plant) network design, including FTTx planning

Required profile

• Valid driver's license
• Open to overnight travel as needed
• Prior experience with OSP and ISP projects preferred
• Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and good verbal and written communication
• Desirable: knowledge of copper, fiber and power distribution systems

Required skills

• ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Field Maps
• AutoCAD and/or Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiarity with Crescent Link, 3-GIS, Vitruvi or similar software is an advantage
