General Neurology Physician – West Bank

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Board‑certified or board‑eligible General Neurology Physician to join its West Bank team in Gretna, Louisiana. The physician will deliver high‑quality neurological care while upholding Ochsner’s core values of Patients First, Integrity, Compassion, Inclusivity, Teamwork and Excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Examine patients, establish diagnoses, and prescribe appropriate medications and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and coordinate comprehensive care plans.
• Document patient encounters promptly in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
• Request additional evaluations, make referrals, and ensure accurate coding of all visits.
• Adhere to all hospital policies, credentialing standards, and federal, state, and local regulations.

Required profile

• Board certified or eligible in Neurology (or primary specialty).
• Licensed MD/DO with active practice privileges and willingness to maintain clinical practice.
• Commitment to professional standards and ability to hold peers to those standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation.
• Medical coding and accurate billing practices.
• Prescribing pharmaceuticals and managing treatment regimens.
