General Manager – Retail Shopping Center

About the role

Tanger is seeking a General Manager to lead its Sevierville outlet center. The role blends independent decision‑making with collaborative teamwork, supported by a flexible, Teams‑driven workplace that spans geographies.

Key responsibilities

• Drive property‑level NOI by increasing revenue streams and managing expenses.
• Develop and execute strategic business, budget, and 5‑year capital plans to maximize asset value.
• Lead local leasing efforts, negotiate deals, and cultivate retailer relationships to boost occupancy and rent.
• Oversee core profit centers such as CAM, short‑term leasing, utilities, waste handling, and marketing partnerships.
• Supervise Operations Director and coordinate with maintenance, housekeeping, and security teams to maintain high standards.
• Implement sustainability initiatives and utility efficiency programs.
• Maintain proactive, customer‑centric relationships with store managers and conduct regular advisory board meetings.
• Guide the Marketing Director in creating and executing strategic marketing plans that drive traffic and community engagement.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 + years of property management or retail center leadership experience.
• Strong critical‑thinking, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership and team‑building skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
• Ability to multitask in a high‑volume environment and work independently.
• Willingness to travel up to 5 % and maintain a valid driver’s license.
