General Liability Trial Attorney

About the role

Zurich North America is seeking a General Liability Trial Attorney to handle complex litigation in the Northern California area. This remote position will involve managing all phases of a case, from evaluation through resolution, while collaborating closely with claims professionals. The role offers the chance to sharpen trial skills within a supportive, flexible environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all phases of litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, and resolution.
• Partner with claims professionals to develop case strategy and negotiate settlements.
• Appear at hearings, trials, mediations, and advocate for clients throughout the process.
• Mentor junior attorneys and serve as a technical resource on complex matters.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor degree and at least 5 years of litigation experience.
• Member in good standing of the California State Bar.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and legal research platforms such as Lexis or Westlaw.
• Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims environment, and insurance defense litigation.
