General Adjuster, Property (New England Region)

About the role

MAPFRE is looking for an experienced Property Claims Adjuster to independently manage moderate to highly complex homeowners' property claims across the New England region. This field‑based role requires strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service throughout the claim lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of moderate to high‑exposure property claims from assignment through final resolution.
• Investigate losses, gather facts, evaluate damages, and determine coverage in line with policy provisions and regulations.
• Conduct on‑site inspections, structural evaluations, personal property assessments, and detailed site analyses.
• Prepare accurate damage estimates and assess repair or replacement costs.
• Negotiate settlements with policyholders, public adjusters, contractors, restoration providers, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
• Handle litigated claims and collaborate with legal partners as needed.
• Maintain proactive, professional communication with policyholders throughout the claim process.
• Partner with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely claim resolution.
• Apply best practices, company guidelines, and regulatory requirements to all claims.
• Respond to catastrophe events and assist with disaster‑related claims.
• Mentor less experienced claims professionals and contribute to knowledge‑sharing initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Property Claims Adjuster handling complex homeowners' claims.
• Strong technical claims expertise and sound judgment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in the field across multiple states.
• Experience negotiating settlements and managing litigated claims.
