Full‑Time RN – Emergency Medicine (OUHC ED)

About the role

The Registered Nurse will lead patient care in the OUHC Emergency Department, applying the nursing process within the Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards. This full‑time position supports Ochsner’s mission of exceptional, compassionate care and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver safe, high‑quality patient care.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary staff while leading the nursing team.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications within 90 days of hire.
