Full-Time Security Officer - Building Access Control

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a full-time unarmed security officer in Irvine, California. The officer patrols and protects a technology, media and telecommunications client, monitors access points, supports access control and provides courteous customer service. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors and delivery personnel, following site procedures and responding to emergencies when needed.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry and document visitor, vendor and delivery activity.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms and critical situations, notifying site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
• Carry out regular and random unarmed patrols of office areas, entry points, parking areas and the business perimeter.
• Report unusual activity, property concerns and policy violations, and complete incident reports and daily activity logs.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• Background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment; licensing may be required depending on state and local law.

Preferred qualifications

• Access control and badge experience.
• Customer service experience.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
