Fuel Service & Inspection Technician

About the role

The Fuel Service & Inspection Technician provides on‑site maintenance, inspection, and repair of fueling facilities for vehicular, generator, and boiler systems across South Florida. The role requires frequent travel to client sites, rapid response to service calls, and close coordination with project managers and site foremen.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on fuel equipment at client locations, including inspections, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Conduct monthly, annual, and pre‑regulatory inspections and document findings.
• Coordinate inspections with site foremen and maintain communication with customers regarding progress, parts, and costs.
• Maintain accurate time cards, work orders, and project documentation; ensure proper cost coding.
• Assist environmental sampling activities, equipment calibration, and field data collection.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or apprenticeship is a strong plus.
• Minimum three years of experience with heavy mechanics, hydraulics, and electrical systems in fuel or petroleum equipment.
• Ability to work independently, manage schedules, and travel frequently across South Florida.
• Strong communication skills and professional appearance.

Required skills

• Heavy mechanics, hydraulics, and electrical system knowledge.
• Fuel/petroleum equipment diagnosis, repair, and testing.
• Certifications: NCCER (desired), OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER, OSHA 30‑hour Construction, Veeder‑Root, Pneumercator, Fuelmaster, Red Jacket.
• Competent‑person lockout/tagout, confined‑space, trenching, and excavation procedures.
• Computer proficiency for daily reports, email, online time reporting, and training.
