About the role
The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for visitors, students, faculty, and staff at the New York Film Academy. This role provides clerical support across departments, handles phone and email communications, and ensures timely distribution of materials.
Key responsibilities
- Provide quality service to employees, students, and guests.
- Act as the frontline resource for the entire building.
- Answer, screen, and transfer phone calls; respond to inquiries and take messages.
- Assist staff with copying, filing, mail handling, and data entry.
- Respond to inquiries from staff, other educational institutions, and the public, offering information and direction.
- Support assigned administrative personnel with their daily functions.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED.
- Flexible availability, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to multitask, maintain punctual attendance, and work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills with students, teachers, parents, and the public.
- Capability to interpret and convey school policies, procedures, and services.
- Experience in customer service or office settings.
Required skills
- Proficiency with MAC platforms.
- Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience using spreadsheets and personal computers.
