Forklift Tire Technician

About the role

Michelin North America, Inc. is hiring a Forklift Tire Technician for Solideal Onsite Service in Milwaukee. The technician installs and services forklift and other material handling tires on site, gives input on customer service and operational improvement, and takes full ownership of the position function. Training is provided for any skills required, and mechanical experience is preferred but not required.

Key responsibilities

• In-house and onsite installation of forklift and other material handling tires using a hydraulic tire press.
• Dismount, mount tires and service the customer product according to the customer order.
• Perform preventive maintenance and keep all equipment, including service vehicles, clean.
• Report immediately to the Service Manager any material that does not meet quality standards, equipment needing maintenance, delays at customer sites, potential equipment issues, accidents or safety hazards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds, with lift-assist available (forklift, lift table, lift gate).
• Must pass a urine drug screen and DOT physical, and a background check, as a condition of employment.
• Regular bending, crouching, squatting, reaching and prolonged standing; tobacco-free environment.

Required skills

• Attention to detail, punctuality, initiative and critical thinking.
• Ability to work independently and communicate professionally with customers.
• Knowledge of MS Office Suite and ERP systems is a plus but not required.
