Forklift Operator - 3rd Shift

About the role

Saputo, a top 10 global dairy processor, is hiring a forklift operator for its 3rd shift in Caledonia, with hours from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The role covers receiving, storing and shipping product in a warehouse environment, following food safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect trailers for inbound and outbound orders, making sure they are properly secured and meet temperature and food safety requirements.
• Load and unload product using radio frequency scanners, keeping paperwork accurate and working with the shift supervisor, quality control and inventory control on discrepancies.
• Receive product from purchase orders or internal stock transfers, checking case counts, code dates, pallet counts and condition, and recording transit damage.
• Ensure outbound shipments are of good quality, with correct weight distribution and compliance.
• Put away received product, replenish pick locations and perform full pallet picking for customer orders.
• Complete the daily powered industrial truck inspection and report concerns to maintenance or the shift supervisor.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety and quality programs, and report quality, food safety and workplace safety hazards promptly.
• Attend required training, shift meetings and committees.

Required profile

• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Willingness to work the assigned schedule, including weekends and holidays, and to work overtime daily and/or weekly.
• Demonstrated work history and ability to work confidently in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb and lift up to 75 pounds unassisted, and to work in cold environments around moving equipment.
• Good visual acuity, including colour vision, close and distance vision, and hand dexterity.

Required skills

• Basic math knowledge.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment.
