Food Services Manager

About the role

Join the Georgia Department of Education as a Food Services Manager, overseeing school cafeteria operations in Atlanta. You will ensure safe, nutritious meals for students while complying with state and federal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, train and evaluate food service staff, and coordinate meal preparation according to approved menus.
• Maintain compliance with USDA, state and local health department requirements, monitor food safety, sanitation, and equipment maintenance.
• Manage inventory, order supplies, receive deliveries, and prepare invoices for timely payment.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly reports, and keep accurate production records.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED with at least three years supervisory experience in a food service setting, or equivalent education and experience.
• Associate degree in Dietetics, Food & Nutrition, Institutional Food Service, or related field.
• Georgia Department of Education Food Services certification (to be obtained within four years).
• Knowledge of USDA School Nutrition Program requirements, including NSLP and SBP.

Required skills

• Experience with school nutrition management software such as Mosaic, NutriKids, PrimeroEdge, SchoolCafé, LINQ/TITAN.
