Food Service Supervisor – Atlanta YDC (Georgia)

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Food Service Supervisor to oversee daily operations at the Atlanta Youth Development Center (YDC). Reporting to the Food Service Director, you will ensure safe, compliant, and efficient food service for residents and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Act as second‑in‑charge, directing the facility’s food service operation and supervising staff.
• Maintain ServSafe (or equivalent) Food Safety Management certification.
• Place weekly raw‑food orders, manage USDA commodity and DOD produce purchases, and track inventory against budget and entitlement funds.
• Review deliveries for quality, address vendor issues, and ensure compliance with health, USDA, DOE, DJJ, and ACA regulations.
• Prepare and submit monthly meal counts, raw‑food inventory reports, and other required paperwork.
• Support internal and external audit readiness, develop corrective action plans, and monitor sanitation and safety standards.
• Provide ongoing training to staff on sanitation, safety, and program compliance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of experience in food service, with one year in a lead or supervisory role, or equivalent experience at Food Service Worker 3 level.

Required skills

• ServSafe Food Safety Management certification (or approved equivalent).
• Computer literacy and proficiency with email communication.
• Inventory management and ordering systems experience.
• Familiarity with JTS reporting system for meal counts and inventory.
