Fitness Specialist

About the role

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a Fitness Specialist to supervise daily operations of the fitness facility, conduct physical assessments, create exercise prescriptions, and deliver exceptional customer service to members.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise exercise activities, monitor participants, and ensure safe and effective program delivery.
• Create, implement, and evaluate incentive programs to improve exercise adherence and retention.
• Assist with development and instruction of group exercise classes and teach participants class methods and procedures.
• Maintain equipment, enforce policies, and support departmental projects, including occasional travel to other fitness locations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong communication skills, experience with fitness assessments and special populations, and ability to work independently.
• Public speaking ability, empathy, and strong customer‑service orientation.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• First‑Aid certification.
• ACE (American Council on Exercise) certification.
• CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) certification.
