Fire Alarm Technician I – Fort Bragg, NC

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician I to install, repair, troubleshoot, and test fire alarm and mass notification systems at Fort Bragg, NC. The role supports preventive and corrective maintenance for contract buildings and military installations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance such as device cleaning, adjustments, battery and component replacements.
• Repair and troubleshoot advanced fire alarm circuits, including loop opens, shorts, and ground faults.
• Program Monaco M1, M2, MAAP+, MAAPX, BTX Communicators and use Honeywell EBI for trouble diagnostics.
• Ensure systems conform to NFPA‑70, NFPA‑72, and UFC 3‑601‑02 standards and verify alarm, trouble, and supervisory signals.
• Document corrective actions, complete SO reports, and rotate on‑call duties as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience with testing, repairing, troubleshooting, and installing complex fire alarm and mass notification equipment.
• High school diploma; advanced electronics training (junior college, military, or trade school) preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 lb, climb towers up to 50 ft, and work in extreme weather conditions.
• Pass a background check for access to U.S. military installations; NICET I certification within the first year.

Required skills

• Monaco M1, M2, MAAP+, MAAPX, BTX Communicators programming.
• Monaco D21 front‑end monitoring and Honeywell EBI troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of NFPA‑70, NFPA‑72, and UFC 3‑601‑02 fire alarm standards.
• NICET I certification and OSHA 30‑hour construction safety training.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
