About the role

The Louisiana Legislative Auditor (LLA) is seeking qualified professionals to join its Financial Audit Section as Financial Services Auditors. The role involves conducting financial, operational, and compliance audits for state entities, ensuring accountability and transparency in government operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform financial audits by reviewing fiscal documents to verify accuracy and reliability of reporting.
• Conduct operational audits to assess efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with strategic objectives.
• Execute compliance audits to identify non‑compliance with laws, regulations, contracts, and agency policies.
• Develop audit project programs, testing procedures, and sampling techniques.
• Prepare audit reports, follow‑up on corrective actions, and document audit evidence.
• Use data‑processing systems and automated tools to support audit activities.
• Identify and document risks of material misstatement, non‑compliance, fraud, or illegal acts.

Required profile

• Working knowledge of governmental accounting and auditing standards.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with audit supervisors, auditees, and team members.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
