Finance Data Integrity Summer Internship

About the role

Mapfre is seeking a highly motivated college student to join its Financial Systems Data Integrity team for a 10‑week summer internship (June 7 – August 13 2027) in Webster, Massachusetts. The intern will support a process modernization initiative, helping migrate a Microsoft Access‑based workflow to a modern database platform.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and document existing business processes and workflows supported by Access databases.
• Migrate data and reporting processes to a scalable database environment, including data validation.
• Create and optimize SQL queries for analysis, reporting, and testing.
• Work with Snowflake or other database technologies for data transformation.
• Collaborate with finance stakeholders to identify automation opportunities.
• Research AI‑enabled tools to enhance productivity and data analysis.
• Prepare analytical summaries and present findings to team and leadership.

Required profile

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s (rising junior or senior) or Master’s program in Accounting, Finance, Business/Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
• Fundamental understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities with attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.

Required skills

• SQL for querying, analyzing and validating data.
• Microsoft Excel proficiency.
