Field Supervisor (Part‑time, Education)

About the role

The College of Arts, Science, and Education at Texas A&M University‑Texarkana seeks part‑time Field Supervisors on a per‑semester basis. Selected candidates join a pool used for fall 2026, spring 2027 and/or summer 2027 placements, providing oversight for clinical teachers in field settings.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct formal and informal observations of clinical teachers in assigned field placements.
• Maintain regular, professional communication with clinical teachers and cooperating teachers throughout the term.
• Monitor teacher progress, instructional growth, and mastery of professional competencies.
• Provide timely verbal and written feedback after observations to support professional development.
• Complete and submit all supervisory documentation, observation records, and final evaluation ratings by program deadlines.
• Collaborate with the program coordinator and field placement office to address placement concerns and develop support plans.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience (Master’s in Education preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and a valid Texas Standard Educator Certificate.
• Minimum three years of successful, certified PK‑12 classroom teaching experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and state pedagogical standards.
• Willingness to complete TEA‑approved Field Supervisor Training and state‑calibrated observation training before student assignment.
• Ability to travel, work beyond normal office hours, and maintain confidentiality.
