Field Service Technician - Trainee

About the role

Tsugami America, a division of Morris Group, Inc. based in Windsor, Connecticut, is looking for an entry-level Field Service Technician to join its service team. The role supports the installation, maintenance and repair of Tsugami CNC machine tool equipment at customer sites across New England. No prior CNC service experience is required; a structured in-house training program and ongoing technical development are provided.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to assist with installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of CNC machine tool equipment and controls
• Identify performance issues and help with preventative maintenance to maximise machine uptime
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic components
• Use machine manuals and technical documentation to research and resolve issues
• Communicate professionally with customers on service status, next steps and completed work
• Complete service documentation accurately (service reports, install reports)
• Take part in technical, safety and manufacturer-led training and seminars

Required profile

• Mechanical, electrical or maintenance experience (academic, internship, military or hands-on); recent technical school graduates welcome
• Interest in CNC machinery, automation or manufacturing technology
• Basic ability to read technical drawings and schematics (training provided)
• Familiarity with hand tools and precision measuring equipment is a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and customer-focused attitude
• Valid driver's license required
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance and work in industrial environments with PPE

Required skills

• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and service documentation tools)
• Reading technical drawings and schematics
