Preventative Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Robert E. Morris Company, a division of Morris Group, Inc. and one of the largest machine tool distribution networks in North America, is hiring a Preventative Maintenance Technician. The technician provides scheduled maintenance of CNC production equipment using hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment, and travels daily to customer facilities, sometimes staying overnight at hotels.

Key responsibilities

• Provide scheduled maintenance of CNC production equipment and conduct maintenance training for customer employees
• Research machine parts and services using machine tool manuals, technical documents and vendor resources
• Act as a direct communication link between customers and the Service Group
• Promote and perform preventative maintenance, and align with safety laws and a clean work area
• Travel safely, learn new technology and soft skills, and build customer brand loyalty
• Perform other related duties as required

Required profile

• Competent English verbal and written communication and customer relations skills
• Adaptable to change and delays, with rational decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Must be highly mobile, able to sit for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs with assistance
• Good vision and composure under pressure; reasonable accommodation available

Required skills

• Basic computer literacy and working knowledge of MS Office, Word, Excel and Outlook
• Electro-mechanical skills (motors, drives, transformers) or willingness to be trained
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
• Multi-control systems environment experience required; troubleshooting skills a plus
• Manufacturing experience in CNC machine tool repair a plus
