Field Sales Consultant, Interiors (Arlington Heights, IL)

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Home Services Sales Consultant in Arlington Heights, Illinois, to sell its exterior and interior products and services to customers. The role is mostly outside sales: visiting customers' homes and trade shows, making tailored product recommendations, negotiating quotes and driving profitability. It reports to the Sales Manager and has no direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to customers' homes to conduct sales calls, assess needs, recommend products and present warranty and financing options
• Develop and negotiate customized price quotes, complete sales contracts and paperwork, and take measurements to match installation specs
• Solicit new customers inside assigned stores and at industry events such as Home Shows
• Build relationships with store management and associates, educate them on HDIS offerings and raise awareness of HDIS programs
• Attend sales and store team meetings to improve sales techniques

Required profile

• Aged 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• High school diploma or GED; 1+ year of related work experience preferred
• Typical overnight travel of 5% of the time; must stand or walk continuously and lift moderate-weight items (8-20 pounds)
• Exposure to dust, fumes or odors; minimum education is a high school diploma or GED

Preferred qualifications

• Prior in-home or virtual sales experience
• Prior home improvement industry experience
• Experience generating leads and computer and app skills (email, iPad, apps)

Pay range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada, New York City, Ithaca (NY), Westchester County (NY) and Washington residents: $40,000 - $100,000.
