Field Sales Consultant, Interior

About the role

The Home Depot is hiring a Field Sales Consultant for its Home Improvement Services (HDIS) in Seabrook, NH. The consultant sells exterior and interior products and services to customers, mainly by visiting customer homes and trade shows. Most of the time is spent travelling and away from a dedicated office.

Key responsibilities

• Visit customers' homes to make sales calls, assess needs, recommend tailored products and negotiate custom price quotes
• Present warranty information and financing options, and maintain profitability
• Complete sales contracts and paperwork, and take measurements to ensure orders meet installation specifications
• Solicit new customers inside assigned stores and at industry events such as Home Shows
• Build relationships with store management and associates, and educate them on HDIS offerings
• Attend sales and store team meetings to improve sales techniques

Required profile

• Able to work 18 years or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ year of previous related work experience preferred
• Typically reports to a Sales Manager; no direct reports

Required skills

• Preferred: prior in-home or virtual sales experience
• Preferred: prior home improvement industry experience
• Preferred: computer and application skills (email, iPad, apps)

Physical requirements include continuous standing or walking and lifting moderate-weight items (8-20 pounds); occasional overnight travel (about 5% of the time). Pay range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Nevada, New York City, Ithaca (NY), Westchester County (NY) and Washington residents is $40,000 - $100,000.
